Web Design: BrainSpaces

e-mail comments and suggestions

Updated: 8/19/08

Use links on this page to access the project wiki, an instant and easy to use vehicle for gathering input and sharing ideas.

"Wiki" is a Hawaiian word for "fast".

A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute content. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. For example, the collaborative encyclopedia Wikipedia is one of the best-known wikis. (source: Wikipedia)

The wiki is access-controlled, which means that anyone can read it, but in order to contribute to it, you must be an “approved” member.  This will help us focus participation on the SD81 community of students, teachers, staff, parents and community members (as opposed to allowing comments from the rest of the world!)

There are several ways to become an “approved” member/contributor to the SD81 project wiki:

· by invitation - BrainSpaces is the “administrator” of the wiki, and has sent e-mail invitations to those for whom we have e-mail addresses.  Follow the instructions on the e-mail invitation for approval.

· by e-mail request - send an e-mail to BrainSpaces identifying yourself as a member of the SD81 community.  We will send you an invitation as soon as we can. Once you receive the invitation, simply follow the instructions on the e-mail invitation for approval.

· by wiki request - go directly to the wiki, https://sd81.wikispaces.com/ and request access by clicking “Join” and then following the on-screen directions.  Remember to add a note identifying yourself as a member of the SD81 community. Your request will be sent via e-mail to BrainSpaces, and we will add you to the list as soon as we can.

SIDEBAR

Please remember that the wiki is one of several venues for voices to be heard during the school planning and design process.

Face-to-face meetings with an array of stakeholders and user groups are also part of the process.  In addition, several open community forums will be conducted.  Please refer to the ACTIVITIES page for meeting information. We look forward to seeing you there!

You are also invited to share your ideas with any member of any committee. One responsibility of the designated members is to share any ideas received with the whole committee. To see a list of committee members click HERE.
